Base64 Encoder/Decoder
Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.
Encode text to Base64 or decode Base64 back to text, with UTF-8 support.
What is Base64 Encoder/Decoder?
Base64 represents binary data using 64 printable characters, so it can travel safely through text-only channels like JSON, e-mail or URLs. Encoding makes data about 33% larger; decoding reverses it exactly.
Useful for
- Reading Base64 values found in configs, tokens or APIs.
- Embedding small pieces of data in JSON or HTML.
- Preparing HTTP Basic authentication headers.
How to use
- Choose Encode or Decode.
- Paste the text or the Base64 value.
- Turn on URL-safe mode when the value goes into a URL, then copy the result.

Is Base64 a form of encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it. Never use it to protect passwords or secrets.
What is URL-safe Base64?
A variant that replaces + and / with - and _ and usually drops the = padding, so the value fits in URLs and file names.
Does it work with accents and emoji?
Yes. Text is converted to UTF-8 before encoding and back after decoding, so accents, emoji and any other language round-trip correctly. If a Base64 value holds binary data such as an image, the tool says so instead of showing garbage.
